On 8th December, 2009, in between the hours of 11:30am-12:30pm, Turkish state army have carried an attack by shelling the areas of Kuvi Hill and Ciyares/Zap/Medya Defence Areas. During the attack, turkish state army used obus and mortars.

1. On 29 November, 2009, an military operation initiated by the Turkish state army against guerrilla field of Botan region in general. Thousands of soldiers participated in the operation, which was in comprehensive scope. Despite the great sensitivity of our guerrillas, two required conflict has occured: One of the conflict occurred on the night of 29th of November, at around 01:30am, in the rural area of the village of Bana / Gabar . and as a result Amed (Halis Burak) ; The second conflict occured with a moving enemy troops on 4th of December in the field of Pikera/Gundik Remo/Cudi, and as a result Zafer (Metin Gulac) and Harun (Yakup Dellayimilan) had reached the testimony after heroic guerrilla war.

1. On the 2nd of December, 2009, in between the hours of 11:30am - 13:00pm, the Turkish state army have shelled the areas of Havan Tepesi, Petrot, Bircela, Resme, Site and Merganis villages in Zap area / Medya Defence Areas. During the shelling they used obus and mortars.

In his weekly meeting with lawyers the Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was transferred to a new prison on the island of Imrali on 17th November said, ‘‘I have been finding it hard to breathe because of the air-conditioning system here. My situation is becoming worse due to these conditions. I am living here in a semi-conscious, half dead state.’’

Kurdish National Leader Abdullah Ocalan evaluated the arrangements at Imrali during its meeting with his lawyers last Wednesday. Ocalan explained that although they offer it as a development, but it is only an intensified form of solitary confinement. He explained that “This is worse than the previous place. Although they offer it as a development it is the intensified form of solitary confinement. They want to surrender me here by confining me to a narrower environment and by making my conditions even more difficult. Yes, it is more isolated and worse. It is hard to breathe and I feel so blocked.

Duran Kalkan, member of the Executive Council of the KCK, assessed recent developments in his interview with ANF. According to Kalkan there isn’t a blockage in the process but a game and deception. Kalkan stated that the AKP were benefiting from Öcalan’s Road Map and using it to try and annihilate the PKK. According to Kalkan distraction and stalling tactics are being employed as part of the plan. Kalkan: ‘‘Everyone has come to an agreement that this thing isn’t going to be solved with the AKP. Thus many different groups, groups who were supporting the AKP, are now calling on them to be consistent, to take concrete steps and to stand behind their words.’’
